the problem out there, so that the credibility is lost on those forums.
This is frequently done, but again, it's a game of whack-a-mole, and I
don't have the time or energy to track down and deal with every one of
these posts on forums well outside my areas of interest.
Neither do these spamming posters ever come back to read responses, so
that is futile. I've seen the same username on dozens of boards, never
with more than 3 posts, never replying to anything anyone actually said.
( That's another point in favor of a spammer over an anonymous crank --
why would anyone that interested in the subject ask people's opinions
then vanish, time after time? )
The problem isn't that these posts have credibility, they don't. The
problem is that they're uninvited spam, by all appearances commercial
spam, that wastes resources and time.quote: I guess I just don't see the logic in signing on to CTV to nag the posters here about it. I mean, we didn't do it!
Absolutely. The point is to get the word out, so people will be more
watchful for these things, and hold CourtTV accountable if they are
convinced it's responsible. And where would I find more people
interested in CourtTV's doings than the CourtTV forums?
But I am not a spammer. I will obey the rules here. I will use things I
control like my livejournal and webpage, I will use CourtTV's feedback
channels such as it's forums and it's snail-mail address, I will inform
my cable company why I do not wish it to carry CourtTV and why, and I
will ask friends of mine to do the same.
