Indoor Gardening

Since being bitten by the gardening bug in the dead of a cold and bitter winter, I've been tinkering with houseplants and seed-sprouting. This page is an image chronology of the plants, their setup, and their progress. Sort of a blog, with more plants and less politics.

2006-12-06(#119): One final update to give this blog a bit of closure. I stopped updating because I moved and got a job, but also because the peppers stopped changing as much. All four plants are still alive and well, one has been given away. This final picture shows one of them, close to what I think is their natural size.

2006-04-08(#115): Success! The very first pepper, and confirmation that the peppers I'm growing bear great resemblence to their parent plant. What other species would have this kind of purple peppers?

2006-04-08(#116): Orange isn't doing so well. I wonder if they're getting TOO much light now.

2006-04-08(#117): Green looks healthy enough. I'm not certain if it's flowers are becoming peppers or just getting ready to fall off.

2006-04-08(#118): Blue looks not quite well, but not dying either. It's flowers didn't take either.

2006-03-21(#111): What a difference a month makes.

2006-03-21(#112): Green seems to be doing the best of all of them, with lots of blossoms and a very deep green coloration.

2006-03-21(#113): Orange used to be a contender for the largest, but it's not faring quite so well now. After this photo I removed the two largest leaves at the very bottom, since they're always in shadow. I've heard some advice that these should be snipped far earlier, perhaps that is why.

2006-03-21(#114): Somewhere in the middle of the pack, Violet is still doing nicely.

2006-02-24(#106): It's blooming now! And how.
